This official Fender Aluminium Shielding Plate is in the vintage style and rather than the thinner modern adhesive sheet. The .011" thick plate is simply mounted between the controls and the underside of the scratchplate to ground the controls and help shield the electronics from noise (no wiring necessary as it will ground to the pots).
