This official Fender Football Shape Jack Plate is used on current Ultra and was used on the Elite and Deluxe Precision and Jazz Bass guitars.
Referred to as a jack ferrule by Fender, the oval plate mounts to the side of the instrument and the hole for mounting the jack through is recessed back from the surface of the plate to stop the jack socket from sticking too far out from the edge of the guitar. The jack plate comes slightly pre bent to help match the curve of a guitar body better.
