This set of two official Gretsch Strap Buttons have a unique design that provides a similar function to strap locks.

The 'hanger bolt' screws have a wood thread on one end and a machine screw on the other, at the end of the machine screw is a small Phillips head so you can drive the wood screw into the guitar body, once the wood screw is full seated only the machine screw portion will be showing on the outside of the guitar, the hole at the end of your strap goes over this portion and then the button threads onto the machine screw to hold it in place. Care should be taken to ensure movement of the scrap does not unscrew the button over time.
