The Hosco Fret Cutter works great for trimming the ends of newly installed fretwire. The top face of the cutter is flush ground so you can get the cutter extremely close to the edge of the fingerboard and remove as much of the excess fretwire as possible, this minimises the time you have to spend filing the fret ends flush to the fingerboard and makes the job easier. They can also be used for cutting fretwire to length before installation.
