Description

The JHS PG-14 Paul Gilbert Signature Distortion Pedal is a FET based distortion that emulates the touch, feel and response of a pushed tube amplifier but without having to play at stadium level volumes.

In addition to the standard drive control knob there a 'Push' knob, this controls how hard the input of the circuit is pushed, essentially it is a powerful preamp hitting the front of the FET amplifier and affects the drive control as well. A second unique and essential feature of the design is an active mid-frequency preamp located at the front of the FET distortion circuitry, the 'Mid Freq' control knob selects the range of frequencies the Mid knob controls from 400 Hz to 7.5 kHz to give you a vast sweep of tonal possibilities with any amp or guitar combination.

The interplay between the push and drive FET circuit and the controllable mid loaded preamp lets the JHS PG-14 pedal go from light overdrive to straight up fuzz, with tone shaping on board and tube amp feeling dynamics.
