Description
The JHS Sweet Tea V3 Dual Overdrive Pedal lets you go from classic mid hump overdrive to JCM800 style distortion or stack both in either direction for a versatile medium to high gain overdrive with plenty of sound shaping options to cover almost any tonal need.
The right side of the pedal is the JHS Moonshine V2 which is a highly unique and massively tweaked version of the Tube Screamer, it has the classic mid heavy tones that you'd expect but with more gain, volume and tone shaping options. In addition to the standard Volume, Drive and Tone knobs there is a Clean control knob to blend in the perfect amount of clean signal with your overdrive signal and also a gain toggle switch, this gives you a lower volume but more saturated tone in the down position and a louder, higher headroom and more open and crunchy tone in the up position.
The left side of the Sweet Tea is the popular JHS Angry Charlie V3 Overdrive Pedal which gives you high gain JCM 800 type 'Brown' sound tone. It features an active full 3 band EQ, just like the Marshalls, helping nail those warm yet searing tones and boundless sustain. Through its different versions the Angry Charlie has always been one of the more aggressive British 'amp in a box' pedals out there but turn the Drive control down and you might be surprised how bluesy and vintage like this pedal sounds. The Drive and Volume controls interact the same as a master volume amp head and you can back off the volume on your guitar to control your gain levels without losing clarity.
Switching both sides of the pedal on stacks the two overdrives together and you can choose the order this happens with the toggle switch in the middle of the pedal, so both Angry Charlie in to Moonshine or vice versa is available (the switch points to the first pedal in the chain). This stacking ability along with the Moonshine gain toggle switch and in depth tone shaping controls makes the JHS Sweet Tea an extremely versatile 2 in 1 overdrive pedal.
