Biscuit bridges are used heavily in National style resonator guitars and the benefits of this version having a separate saddle means that just the saddle can be easily replaced overtime as it wears (just the maple saddle blank is also available from us as a separate item). Maple is the traditional wood used for resonator saddles and provides a hardwearing saddle for the strings, the blank is supplied with no shaping or slotting.
