Description

The Babicz FCH-3 Original Series Gibson 3 Point Style Bass Bridge is a drop in replacement and features their patented eCAM saddles. The bass string sits on their specially shaped 'encapsulated cam' which when adjusted, rotates in the housing smoothly changes the action of the string up or down, because the cam is fully supported by the saddle housing the connection between the string and the guitar body is greatly increased, maximising sound transmission. A separate screw locks the height adjustment of the saddle in place and another locks the saddle to the base plate after intonation has been set, ensuring maximum stability, no sideways movement and no possible buzzing. The bridge is made from lightweight aluminium, comes with an 1/8" shim plate matching the bridge footprint should you need a higher action and the top loading strings mount through the back of the bridge for quick and easy restringing.

Nearly brilliant

The engineering of the product is superb but note that this does not suit all Gibson basses with three point bridges

I needed to retrofit this bridge to a 1979 Gibson RD Artist bass and it proved pretty problematic
1/ suppled screws were too small
2/ tip of the bridge clashes against the pick guard of the bass

Solution was to use the original 1979 bolts and the luthier milled the tip of the bridge so it wouldn’t damage the pickguard
This also meant that I can only use two out of three bolts

However, it’s on and has honestly transformed the bass which now has a better bridge and enables a better setup
