Description

The 510T-FE1 is a high quality tremolo from Gotoh's flagship 510 range that has the post spacing of Fender American Standard Stratocaster tremolos but with a slightly wider string spacing (54 mm E-e). This bridge features steel saddles for clarity and response with a brighter tone than brass, their block design is comfortable on the hand while playing. The bridge plate is made from extremely resilient chromium molybdenum steel finished with heat treatment to ensure strong and hardwearing knife edges. There are slots in the bridge plate that the height adjusting screws for the outer e string saddles fit in to, stopping sideways movement of the saddles. The studs can be locked in to their body anchors to give the most transmission of sound to the body. Gotoh's FST Tremolo block holds the ball end of the strings in a position to stop them binding on the bridge plate as they travel to the saddles, reducing wear on the strings and bridge and helping the tremolo to return back in tune after use. The tension holding the tremolo arm can be adjusted via a set screw in the bridge.

Great tremolo - enhances your guitar.

I was after a ‘performance’ term that didn’t ruin the aesthetics of the guitar. Great performance when set up. Returns to pitch just fine even after some serious waggling.

Bar tensioner works well. Springs a little noisy for my taste, but easily resolved with some foam inside the springs.

Love the FST feature keeps the strings off the baseplate so no odd buzzing like I had on the old term (took me ages to work it out).

Has to redrill mounting post holes, so best to check location with regard to an existing term if you are replacing. Gotoh’s website it good for diagrams.

Has brought life back to an favourite guitar.

Love it

Really nice bit of kit.
