Description
This Hosco Stainless Steel Jumbo Fretwire is a more durable and longer lasting alternative to nickel silver frets and has a smoother, slinkier feel when playing, especially during bending. These have a large jumbo size featured heavily on modern rock and metal orientated guitars (which also allows the frets to be levelled several times for an even longer life). The frets have a 2.5 mm binding notch at each end, here the fret tang is cut away leaving only the crown for easy installation over fretboard binding (these can be installed on guitars without binding, just seal the fret ends on the side of the fretboard as you would normally). The fretwire comes pre cut in a pack of 24 pieces and curved to a 10" radius for easy installation, please note that each fret is cut sequentially to a fretboard taper of 43.5 mm at the nut and 53.5 mm at the 12th fret so these will fit a standard Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Les Paul but cannot be used on guitars with a wider fretboard (e.g. 7 string guitars).

Hard to work but probably worth it
Very hard wire, be prepared for a marathon of finishing if you do need to level them. I cut to length and finished the ends on each one individually leavings a small amount of bevelling/rounding at the end of the process. Once done the notes ring out very clearly and the un-amped volume of the semi-acoustic I fitted to is significantly louder than before.
