This official Gibson Tailpiece / Stop Bar was originally designed by Ted McCarty in the early 1950s as a modified version of the earlier wraparound bridge and is used for anchoring the strings of your Tune-o-matic bridge equipped guitars. This stop bar tailpiece delivers increased sustain, enhanced harmonic overtones and improved tuning stability.
