Description
This set of 3 x 3 Schaller M6 locking tuners have the attachment screw offset at a 45 degree angle to the tuner post, this set up is common on a lot of 3 x 3 headstock designs from Ibanez, Schecter, ESP, Jackson and PRS SE guitars. They feature a 1:18 gear ratio for accurate tuning. The Schaller locking system is operated by a thumb screw on the back of the tuner for quick and easy string changes. The enclosed gears feature Schaller's Velvet-Tec and LX6-Lube technologies to ensure the gears mesh and turn smoothly and precisely, backlash is minimised and it also adds durability. Excellent tuning machines from Schaller
I have a PRS245SE which I bought new in May 2021. It's an excellent LP style single cut with much to commend it. However by May 2024 I was regularly losing tuning on the G and D strings, particularly after bending strings, also these two machines had become friction less in the turning. Two of my other guitars have locking tuners which I find advantageous, particularly as they have vibrato/tremelo arms. I previously believed that locking tuners were unnecessary on a hard tail, however, when forced to changeout the originals I reconsidered. I'm glad I did. These Schaller M6's are simply superb. Excellent build quaility, great chrome, good ratios, and the guitar stays in perfect tune!
